TOTP/2FA Secret Generator
Generate Time-based One-Time Password (TOTP) secrets for two-factor authentication
Configuration
Standard is 30 seconds
Setup Instructions
- Generate a TOTP secret
- Open your authenticator app (Google Authenticator, Authy, etc.)
- Scan the QR code OR manually enter the secret key
- Your app will generate 6-digit codes that change every 30 seconds
- Store the secret key somewhere safe for account recovery
- Enter the code from your app when prompted to verify 2FA setup
TOTP Security Best Practices
- • Save the secret key in a secure location (password manager, encrypted note)
- • Use a TOTP app on your phone, not via SMS (SMS is less secure)
- • Enable TOTP on all important accounts (email, banking, crypto, etc.)
- • Keep your phone and authenticator app updated
- • Set up backup codes in case you lose access to your authenticator
- • Never share your secret key or TOTP codes with anyone
- • Consider using multiple authenticator apps for redundancy
